Light switch help
My headlight switch has acted up since I got my truck. I finally got a new switch yesterday, but i noticed that the plastic connector is burnt pretty bad, and there is melted plastic on the metal connectors
. What i really need to know is, can i replace the plastic connector? Where can i get it? I got my switch at NAPA, but didnt know if they would have this piece or not. Its aggrovating, because now i have to wait to wire up my gauges to the dimmer for the dash lights; and i just got my gauges. I might try to reuse the old connector, but would like a new one. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the help guys, but I got the old connector hooked back up, and the headlights are working great now, so ill leave them like they are. I do have a question though; what color is the hot(12v positive) wire that dims the dash lights? I would like to hook my gauges into it so that i dont have to have them on all the time, and i can dim them if i want. Ill only need the them lit up at night anyway, so thats why id like them to come on with the headlights, and dim when the dash lights do. I have them temporarily hooked up, where they come oin with the key, and they look great at night. Thanks for the help guys.

Eric:
The easiest way to control the lighting of your guages is to add a fuse to your fuse panel for the instrument lights and make your connection there. Go to your local parts store and and get a Littlefuse mini Add-A-Circuit and install it in the fuse slot for your instrument lights. Using this, both the instrument lights and your guage lights are on the same circuit but on separate fuses. I got mine at Pep Boys for about $8 and the package includes extra fuses for the circuit you are adding.

On my '95s all the light dimmer wiring is tan with an orange tracer, it's all over the place under the dash. '94 is probably the same but check with a test lamp before you go too far. Easiest place I've found to tap into it is in the bundle going towards the stereo area.
