Joelayan, That looks great, your saying thats a factory color? I don't think I've ever seen one that color, awesome truck.

Dodge24 looks great, I like what you've done with the engine compartment the painted valve color looks sweet, how long did it take to polish the air horn?

I got it done at Rush truck center because I know the body shop manager. They usually work on Semi trucks, and the paint booth is very large. He said they were so slow they needed work, and they did it for a good price. We cut down on some of the cost by doing some body work at home and I removed trim, running boards, diamond plate, and emblems. They used Du-pont paints (Chroma-base and Chroma-clear) and did a sealer as well before laying the base down, then 3 coats of clear. Just waiting the 90 days so I can wax it up and see what she looks like then..

I had to buy a new front grille because the old one's mounts were broken, and which ever ones weren't before I took it off were after removal. The grille was wrinkling up anyway.

Joel
shouldnt be any problems with waxxing it now, ive sanded and buffed paint 6 hours after it was pulled out of the booth, the wax wont male it look any better though, all it does is fill in smlall shallow scratches, and if the paint is new, it shouldnt have any scratches, it looks good though, did they sand and buff it, or did they just get the paint to lay out that nice?

I waxed a truck i painted the day after I painted it and the cloth I was waxing it with turned red from the paint. It was cheap paint though.

yeah, you dont have that problem with base coat clear coat, the color dries before you ever put the clear on, and the clear has an ativator, were a single stage like you used had a hardener, clear is usually touch dry in 30-minutes to an hour, now ive sprayed some enamel on a log trailer that took a week to totally dry. But srry for the ramble guys, Back to topic

joelayan, I've always loved that color on 2nd gens and you're right they're pretty rare. Guy who used to live down the street from me had a 1500 with that color except his was 2 tone, white on top, your blue in the middle, and white on the bottom. one of the only ones I've ever seen. You gotta good lookin' truck!!
