Keyless Entry Kit

I just bought a Keyless entry kit but it didnt come with any instructions. Its right from dodge. It has a clip that looks like you wire it to the computer thing and then it plugs into your truck but where and how does it wire up? Also where is the best place to put the antenna for this? If anyone has a link or something to the instructions that would be great. Thanks

Re:Keyless Entry Kit

Sorry I don't have a digital camera to take a picture but, the keyless entry is mounted on top of the brake system directly behind the fuse box under the hood. Mine is wired into the factory wiring harnes. You might check to see if there are 2 plugs there that are not being used, they might be taped or fastened into place off to the side. As far as the antenna I didn't see anything but, those to plugs. My keyless is from Dodge and came with the truck. The unit is molded to fit ontop of the brake system perfectly so it should be pretty simple to find the right spot. I hope your truck is already wired for keyless because it will make you life a lot easier. Let me know how it goes and if I can be more help.

Re:Keyless Entry Kit

FreightTrain,

Would you please describe where it plugged in, what plugs looked like etc. I have an aftermarket system that I'm working on installing, but operating the lock/unlock motor is drawing too much current the way the instructions say to hook it up.

How much did the OEM add on remote keyless system cost?

Thanks!

Re:Keyless Entry Kit

If im reading right, You bought the keyless entry from Dodge..

Now, are you hooking it into a alarm module??? If so is it factory or aftermarket.

Just want to make sure, If this is not done properly you can let the smoke out of the Body Control Module ...
