Intermittent Tail light issue...
All,
My drivers side taillight/turn signal is working intermittently. Meaning some days it decides to work, others I put my turn signal on and it just flashes like crazy. I checked the bulbs and nothing is out.
Also, a buddy was following me last night and said the brake light wasn't working.
Any advice.
Thank you.

Dawg, obviously I don't know your truck but most of my rear light issues (this truck and Chevy before it) came from trailer harnesses and plugs. In one case it was a badly installed trailer harness on the truck (I have never seen such a bad wiring job) and I have had intermittent problems with road salt and dirt bulding up inside the plug over winters. I now clean the contacts in my trailer plug with contact cleaner frequently.
This may be totally irrelevant for your situation, but it is where my problems have been.

Thank you for the replies. I dont hit the beach often, but I do have a boat which I havent towed in a long time. I always wash the underside of the truck anytime I come back from the beach or boating.
I have been in the field for work, but plan to address the issue this weekend.
Thanks again for the advice.

Was at my buddy's shop on Saturday... Tail light issue resolved: the prongs on the socket were spread out too far, causing intermittent contact. How that happened I dont know. Thank God my buddy is an honest guy!
I am still trying to figure out what to do with rear window seal and how it leaks. Such is life, the truck still runs great, so I cant complain.
Thanks again

Your solution reminded me of the KISS Principle.
KISS = Keep It Simple Stupid!!!!
It is nice when it is a simple problem with a simple solution. At least none of us went totally nuts with some or our crazy ideas
