I need help now!

When i turn my heater on its emits a thick smoke that has a odd smell and fogs up my windows bad anyboyd got any clue whats going on its a 99 4x4 was a texas truck so i doubt the heater has been used much any thoughts would be appriciated.

Can you discribe the smell better than "odd"? Is it sweet like antifreeze or like a dead animal?

I agree. If the "fog" on the windshield is greasy, it is most likely coolant. If the "fog" just smells bad, it could be that the drain in the heater core plenum is clogged and you are pumping stagnant water from your a/c evaporator into your car.

I think you hit it on the head there... But I bet the heater core is leaking on top of it all...

Looks like I'll be replacing the HC this weekend on mine. Autozone had the core for $79, not to bad but as I understand, it is going to be a time consuming job.I have just styarted smelling antifreeze in the cab but floor isn't wet.I've never seen one smoke. Is the carpet wet?

If you are doing the heater core you might as well do the AC evaporator also, since it's such a pain to get to.
