How to remove RSS bushing?

I've been experiencing some steering issues lately and think my RSS bushing is too tight even after 8000 miles. While detached from the intermediate shaft, the wheel feels like it's dragging when turned. I pulled the column in hopes of removing the bushing to sand it down some and lube up the shaft real good. Only problem is, I can't get the bushing to budge one bit. I tried prying under the lip with a screwdriver. I tried taping under the lip with a screwdriver and hammer. All that did was chip pieces off of the lip. Does anyone have any ideas of how to remove the bushing? Any tips are appreciated, even if it includes destroying the bushing.

Take it off and press it out maybe ?? Haven't messed with one before but a press will get it out.

There's no way to press it out. The bushing is inserted between the steering column shaft and the steering column outer sleeve that runs the length of the column.
