Pull the bed off and wail on it with a big rubber mallet?

A lot depends on how you want it to look when your done. Also how bad it is bent. As Phox said take it off and beat on it. You can drill some holes and bolt a peice of angle to it (fwd side, outside the bed) and pull from the bolts. If it is not bent much, just bolting the angle up might take care of it. You might think about leaving it there to strengthen the bed.

bow removal

Most of the time those type of bends are real easy to pull out i have corrected quite a few and you will be very surprized how easy it is. Just get one other person to help you -get into the box and both of you neel down put both hands on the rail top between the cab and the box one person on either side of the center of the bow. Together at the same time give it a mild tug rearward do not get real aggressive or you will end up with a kink! You can always pull more so start out lightly and you will be amazied how easy of a fix it is. Let me know how you do. Rattlerbob

I had this problem a while back. A water barrel slid forward in my truck at elk camp and bent the bed. Thought about hooking a come along from the front of the bed to my 5th wheel hitch. Someone sugested just pulling on it by hand. I tried that and it worked. Did't do anything to the paint and looks good as new. FYI it was bent enough to put a small dent in the cab. Might be worth a try.

I noticed that you have a 97, it might not be as tinny as my 02.

Yeah, just grab on and pull, the bed fronts are very flimsy. my roomates truck and my truck had the same issue....just a little tug and it was fixed on both rigs.

Definetly pull it back out by hand we had to do this on my fathers truck after a pallet of fertilizer slid ahead and bent it , as well as the back of the cab.

We pulled the box off , and riveted a piece of angle up in the channel , then to press the cab out we removed the seats , and used a hydraulic jack and a special pressing tool we made , to press the cab back out.
