Horn Switch

I need some help with my horn switch. I can only make my horn honk from one little spot on the sterring wheel. Has anyone ever had the airbag off and gone this far into the switch?

I disconnected the batteries, and let the truck sit for about 20 minutes before removing the airbag from the steering wheel. I wore a grounding strap on my wrist while doing the work also. I got has far as looking at the back side of the airbag and cover assembly and trying to figure out how to get to the horn switch. I think it can be done, but it appears that the airbag itself come unbundled, or is it held together by something other than the steering wheel cover? I was also tring to determine how the cover comes off when the airbag needs to deploy. The cover looks pretty solid. I DO NOT want to mount a remote switch, and I would prefer not to buy an airbag assebly if I don't have to.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Darrin

Re:Horn Switch

The cover breaks, I have one here that has been deployed. I would not mess with the bag or the cover. Remove it or replace it but don't mess with it. I have seen them advertised for $40 or so.

Don't mess with the airbag! If you trip it, it could kill you Seriously, that thing can be dangerous. In less than a sec. that thing can go off. Just a word of warning.
