hood insulation

hood insulation starting to disentegrate, sag and beginning to fall. Should I remove it and run without it and if so what are the ramifications or do I need to replace it.

My fan is starting to eat my insulation as well. Any updates on this? Doesnt summit insulation? Aluminized on one side? I heard that the increase in hood heat will cause the paint to fade quicker? Worried about the sagging insulation catching on fire if it gets close to the turbo.
