okay learning to weld project still have the ends to work to wrap around to cover the body bushing mounts. but I'm happy so far with it.

I was wondering that also. so far driving the same way for the last week and I havent noticed any thing different. I know Im getting more air pulled under the truck with out the factory big plastic hanging down.

 

I am no engineer, just a thought ya know. but it looks great. the only thing i would add would probably be recessed fog lights.

 

yeah I thought of that after to late but I have other Ideas for them I currently have 2 50w led lights on the bottom cheapies but they are not protected I will go with a oval or rectangle light for the fogs so I will end up boxing in a spot underneath to do some protection.

okay question to anyone that knows how other aftermarket bumpers mount. when I built this bumper I used the same 3 factory bolts and sleeve that goes into the oem spot. just attached my bumper to this. I wanted to see what would happen on a light impact so I had a cinderblock wall let it coast about 10 feet hit the wall cracked the wall. didnt do anything to the bumper except push the bumper up alittle. just the same as a oem bumper would because of the oem 3 adjustable/readjustable bolts. I can reposition the bumper not a problem. just thinking should I weld my bumper to the frame and get rid of the 3 oem bolts. or keep it the way I have it. I'm just thinking that if I rigid weld this to the frame and do take a good hit that the frame is going to take the hit. ( the wall I hit was a wall I was taking down anyway in my back yard). any opionions on this would be great

 

go ahead and weld it to the frame! as long as the weld is on the end and not in a stress area (like 3 feet from the end)
