HO review

This has been brought up before, I'm just too lazy to search back..What are the different ways to determine if a engine is actually a HO? VIN code number, engine valve cover...? The reason I'm asking a dealer has a '99 3500 with a 6-speed and says its a HO, but I thought the HO was introduced in 2000. Also, wasn't the 6-speed in '99 a short run and pulled by Dodge because of some kind of problem.<br><br>I will write everything down this time

Re:HO review

The HO became available in early 2000, titled as a 2001. You can read the engine tag on the drivers side of the engine, on the accessory case, near the &quot;Pill Bottle&quot;.

I believe the early 6 spd had a smaller input shaft, but I'm not certain. Hope this helps.
