Heater Core Leak

I have a leak in my heater core and I'm trying to wait a few weeks before I take the dash apart to replace it. I need to be able to continue to drive my truck while I wait.

I was wondering if there is an easy way to stop the flow of fluid to the heater core while I continue to drive it the next few weeks. It's not leaking into the floorboard or anything but it's making a big mess on the windows. Puts this greasy film on the windows. It seems to be doing it even if the heat is not on.

Anyway. I was just wondering if there is any easy way to stop the fluid from going to the heater core?

Get a piece of heater hose and connect it to the input and output under the hood, thus bypassing the heater core. Of course you won't have heat - but you are down South so you should be okay.

thanks for the reply. that's what i was thinking i could do but i just wanted to make sure before doing that. i didn't want to damage anything. I just bypassed the heater core for now. I'm just trying to put it off because I have to do the evap. core too while i'm in there. thanks again for the info.
