Question Headliner falling down. How to fix???

I have a 94 2500 4x4 cummins/dodge, and my headliner is falling down in a few spots, mainly right in front of the drivers seat. I was wondering if there is anything i can do to get it to stay up, without using some kind of a clothes pin or something. Is there any kind of special glue or anything i can buy to put it back up. The truck has 163,000 miles on it now. Thanks for any help.

Well, my partner just fixed his. It was doing the same thing right at the edge along the glass. He used a spray adhesive that he found in the craft section at Walmart. Just a dab will do it. Spray on the roof and then carefully smooth the headliner back in place. We got it done and you can not tell it ever had a problem.

Thanks for the help guys! I just posted this not 5 minutes ago, and already 2 responses. Mine is right at the edge of the glass, so i shouldnt have to take it down at all. Do you guys recall the name of the product you used to fix it with? Thanks again for the help.

Your welcome. Think it was just 3M spray adhesive. Looked like a spray paint can. Good luck. You will need to use care not to get too much on the windshield, but elbow grease will clean it up nicely.

You don't have a part # for that elbow grease do ya.

Mine is getting a little tight in my latter years and it may help.

Hint:
My old '90 was doing the same thing.
I pulled the headliner and did the spray glue thing...........3 times.
Then I watched an episode of Shade-Tree Mechanic (remember that one?)
They explained that was is happening is the foam used in the padding was breaking down, and the once it starts, it will continue to rot away.
The real fix is to pull the headliner ONE TIME (it's cloth covered cardboard), scrape ALL the old foam off (wire brush works great) then spray the glue on both the cardboard & the material(available at Pep-Boys etc) and smooth the new material over the cardboard starting in the middle working to the edges.

I did my Mom's 86 Aries 4dr this way.
Whole job took about 2 hours, and looked better than the day it rolled off the assembly line.

Shovelhead is completely right, I've used the 3M spray adhesive on several occasions, every time I told the customer this was a temporary fix at best.

Ususally they brought the vehicle back after a few months for the job to be done right.
