Headlight Switch

The headlight switch in my truck has been acting up lately. Are the newer style switches with the turn **** interchangeable with my pullout style? How about the A/C controls? I think it would be cool to switch the styles over. just a thought...

You really want an A/C you can't turn off?

what are you talking about? I was just curious if the switches would hook up and mount the same?

No they do not, you can get a replacement from anywhere for about $20.

If its acting up, means it will short soon, change it now before the wire loom gets melted too.

If you swap it with the wires in tact, its a 20 minute job tops

This is what i did after I got 2 after market and 2 OEM from dodge that didnt work ( Yes I'm sure it was the switch and not the wires, I used a DVOM on all of them and then made it work using the stock wires) the marker lights would come on about halfway to the first click were they were suppose to work and the would cut off when out to the first click and all the way out. The green is marker lights, blue is head lights, red is dome lights and, orange is cargo lights. The dash lights are full bright but I never turned them down anyway. This was done in one night when the lights would not turn on at all so I had to do it fast and will make it look better later. I had to do it in my 92 as well when it melted the wires. Dodge electrical sucks. They run too much stuff off of too small of a wire.

On the '98 and newer controls the A/C is on in most control positions. On your older truck the fan speed switch gives you the opportunity to decide for yourself if you want the A/C on or not.
