head light switch

A guy I work with has a 95 2500. It burned the connector off the back of the headlight switch.
Does any body have a diagram to wire in a relay to take the load off of the switch

Do a search on this site for headlight switch. You will find a lot of info including the part number for the Summit wire kit and swtch update parts. A lot of reading!

On a 94, you wire the relay into the B/Y wire, I believe. It controls the parking and running lights.

In my experience, the problem comes from the rheostat overheating from running with the dash lights dimmed down. I did relays, heavier wiring, and so on with no real luck.

I have a '97 3500 and I got a recall on the headlight switch. They said the switch might over heat and catch on fire...maybe '95 might be in the same boat..Good luck

The Summit kit is part# SUM-890030. It puts a relay on each headlight removing load on the switch. Also gives brighter headlights because they are running directly from batt through relays. Summit phone is 800-230-3030.
