Going down to a leveling kit

I currently have the Skyjacker 4.5" lift kit, and I would like to go down to a 2" leveling kit. The kit I have uses 4.5" springs, new track bar and relocation bracket, control arms, dropped pitman arm, shocks, and dual steering stabilizers. I would like to use someones 2" springs, an adjustable track bar, and possibly a bracket. Does anybody know if the Skyjacker bracket will accept a 3rd Gen style adjustable track bar from somewhere like Thuren, Solid Steel, or Lorenz? I like the idea of eliminating the ball joint, but I am not opposed to using one if I have to. Basically, I need your suggestions on a track bar, springs, and shocks for a 2" leveling kit. I use my truck as a daily driver, so I want something that will ride smooth on the street.

The 4.5" Skyjacker bracket is designed for a 2nd gen bar. So, you would lose that and have to use a 3rd gen conversion bracket for he 3rd gen bar or one of the other 2nd gen options out there.

I feel the 2" and 4.5" ride about the same to me.

Which second gen bar are you referring to? My Skyjacker bar does not use the ball joint style end like the stocker. It has a bushing like the third gen bar.

I emailed Don at Thuren and Russell at Solid Steel. Don has never seen the Skyjacker bracket I have, but I sent him pics and he will get back to me about how it will work with his bar.

Without seeing the bracket, it's hard to say what you have. The SkyJacker bracket uses the stock 2nd gen bar.

I will keep everything but the springs and dropped pitman arm, I think.

I apologize. I forgot about the Skyjacker aftermarket bar.

I am unsure if it's the same dimension as the 3rd gen bar or not on the poly end. Maybe someone that has done the conversion would know.

Might be as simple as that.

Are you getting rid of the coils and leafs, or are you gonna keep the AAL's in the back? That might look pretty good. I kind of like the raked stance.

I am going to keep the add-a-leaves for now. The coils, of course, will be replaced with 2" coils. It sits kind of low in the rear now, so it may actually be level. Anyone know where to get a set of really nice riding 2" lift coils?

OOP's. I thought some people around used the D45's in place of the 2" spring spacers. But I must have been mistaken. My bad......
