gauges/overhead console question

I've got a 2000 Tahoe overhead console, color matches pretty well. On this console it has three heat/ac controls which are circles, two map lights and a little more storage. I was wanting to take out the controls and widen the holes to fit my gauges. Boost/Pyro/Trans temp. Then remove the factory overhead console and fit in the Tahoe console. I think with a little fitting work on the roof panel it should fit and look cool. My only problem is with the hoses for the gauges, can they travel that far. I was planning on running them up the pillar column and then over to the overhead console. Will this work, also can I use the wiring in there to power the gauges? Thanks a lot.

The wiring in the overhead stock console will have power all the time so you will need to have an ignition on power wire plus another for the lights in the gauges (on and dimmer). I think the hose for the boost gauge should work as long as there are no kinks, as for the trans temp gauge I guess it's another wire?(I dont have one)

yes you can drag the wires and plumbing that far. you may have to use two lengths of nylon for the boost gauge if that is what you are mounting there. i always use split loom to carry my nylon and wire so there are no chaffing problems.

Wiring for the lighting is not switched - power for the digital monitor is switched..............
