How to install the grease fitting

Here it is. Looks very easy with everything dissassembled which by some coincidence mine is. This guy is pretty intelligent. http://www.mark74.com/ram_modifications.htm

I just did the zerk fitting installation on the drivers side last night. As I have had it apart a couple of times in 176,000 miles and coated it good with anti sieze compound from napa, the hub came off in my hands with no puller needed. On the site in the previous post above the pix shows the hole for the zerk at 12 o'clock on the knuckle. I have 4 wheel abs so the sensor wire for the abs runs right there. I installed the zerk 90 degrees to the front of the truck on the hub and drilled the knuckle accordingly. Even without the 4 wheel abs I don't see how I could have conviently have greased from 12 o'clock. Looking at the hub from the outside it was much better at 9 o'clock. If you are looking at it from under the truck (behind the knuckle it would be at 3 o'clock. Works like a charm. This is the orginal hub on the truck. I have pulled it apart twice and cleaned and lubed the bearings. I am currently waiting for the second new hub on the right side to come in. I will do the zerk fitting installation before I install the hub. I invested about $30.00 total in a good 5/8" drill bit, a couple of 90 degree zerks, a magnet to magnetize the drill bits. I had the small drill bit and the #3 drill bit and also a standard tap & die set which I used to cut 1/4-28 threads. I put high temp thread locker on the zerk and installed it. It took grease with out a problem. Great little modification which is very inexpensive, requires only moderate skills and will save alot of time and money.
