Front springs

I was considering replacing my 02 2500 front springs which are currently 039/038, but when I went to the spring shop ( which by the way is a well respected place in my area ) they told me I had the heaviest that I could get. Is this true? I've been hearing numbers like 047/046, will these work? Also what would the benifeit be to adding the springs, i.e. will it carry more of the weight of my plow. Should I also replace the shocks with a better dampening type? The reason I'm considering this, is because I hang a Western MVP 8.6' plow off the front. The plow ways roughly 840#'s.

Re:Front springs

I don't know if those are the heavest factory springs or not.

But, have you considered the aftermarket skyjacker ones?

Seems like that might be a good option if you have a plow on the front?

Re:Front springs

I ordered my truck with the snow plow and camper package. It came with the 046/047 front springs. Go to http://dodgeram.org/tech/specs/springs.htm and you will get some front spring information for your truck. The higher rate springs will help you with your plow weight and raise the front a little. Good luck.
