i have a front end rattle that is driving me crazy. a friend suggested shocks. i pulled them off. they checked ok. the lower bolts however were worn and had a groove in them. i replaced the bolts. 1 year later the same problem. does anyone know of a better fix?

 

is it 4 wheel drive?
i had front axle joints bad and they rattled really bad

 

Is it a hollow sounding rattle? I had the inner hub cap come loose and it rattled around between the wheel and the rotor. Just a shot in the dark here..

i replaced the bolt in mine with a 10.9 grade i got at a fastiner <bolt> supplyer that had a longer un threaded portion that reachhed most of the way through the mount , factory threaded one was threaded inside shock bushing and wore away the threaded portion .
torque it to app 140 ft lb. tight !
or it will wiggle and wear agin !
