Front End pull on 02 4x4

Went to the dealer and got Dodge to pay for a front end alingment. Didn't do any good. Buddy of mine runs the alingment shop told me about an aftermarket adjustable ball joint. Has anyone tried it and does it make much difference.

Dealer told me when I went back that is all they can do and that is just how they drive. Truck only has 4600 miles is it worth the cost of the ball joints and another alingment out of my own pocket.
Thanks

There's an aftermarket adjustable track bar, made by DT products. Could that be what he's talking about? It's not that uncommon for the factory track bar to wear out fairly early on these trucks--on my 98 1500 it was starting to get flaky at about 50,000 miles. Big tires, lifts, etc. can accelerate the process.

On some of the earlier 2500's (maybe 3500's, too), there was a TSB that called for putting a spacer on one side of the front behind the wheel, but I don't think it applies to 2002's.

there are adjustable ball joints out that dc was fixing alignment problems on grand cherokees. there is a chrysler tsb for cherokees re: adjustable ball joints tsb#021299. the ball joints aren't actually adjustable they're just offered in 1- 1.5 degree increments. dont know if this will help, but might be worth looking into.

I will give you something free to try. My truck will not run with the tires a 70 pounds or below in front. I get wander, pull, outer edge wear. At 80 or above the tire wear is outstanding and the truck is much more stable.

Do the math and you will find that the front end is around 5000 pounds. That takes 2500 pound rated tires to work properly and safely. Some E rated tires only achieve that above 75 pounds. Regardless of the ride you get, the front tires need to be near max pressure to run right.
