Front End On an 01
Front End On an 01
I just replaced the ball joints on both sides, track bar, and, tierod ends. I would have to say the hardest part was taking the hub assembly out of the spindle. The rest was cake. Any questions feel free to ask me.

my truck has 120k miles, lots and lots of it dirt roads, and pretty much everything has some slop. Steering is terrible, wandering around all over the road. I figure its best to just do this all at once and replace everything - tie rod ends, ball joints, u-joints, track bar, and stabilizer. Is the pickle fork and ball joint press all that's needed ? or am i missing something. Also, i've read the threads about using the power steering to push out the hubs. Would it make sense to replace the hubs too. More money ($$), but it looks like the kind of thing you just want to do once. Advice appreciated.

Yea its not that bad except for the hub. I wouldnt suggest hammering on the ear where the treads are unless you have a good tap to fix the threads. I bought all MOOG problem solvers. It didnt seem like the bjs were the actual problem solvers even though they came in the box. The problem solvers usually say it on the bottom of the part, like my track bar. The moog track bar is much better quality and is actually bigger. It was a little pricey but oh well, needs to be done. It was around $600 with new pads at my cost (dealer). It drives so much better it doesnt wander or anything.

Everything else isn't too bad.
