Front brakes grabbing ?

My front driver side brake locks up when I apply brakes hard or quickly. I have new shoes, pads, rotors, drums. I have inspected metering valve as per service manual. It checks out fine. Power steering fluid is fine also. I pulled wheel & rechecked rotor/caliper/pads. Caliper is not dragging, pads & rotor still appear new. What else would cause only one side to lockup & be grabby.
I have only seen this once before on a 66 chevy hehe. It was the master cylinder.

The only thing that I can think of is the calipers. Sounds like you have one working good and the other not. When you did your brake work was anything done with the calipers? I'm thinking that when the pistons were pushed in there is one sticking. If that is the case I would suggest that you go ahead and replace them. Another thing that comes to mind is the possibility fo a front brake hose problem. Maybe there is an internal break in one and the flap isn't allowing full pressure to the caliper.

Check the calipers per MnTom's suggestion. What happens with the newer calipers is the pistons wear on one side and will bind in the bores. It is a good rule of thumb to replace the OEM type calipers at every pad change on the newer trucks.
