Ok I found a 01 4x4 Quad cab Cummins/ auto.
It has a serious Knock in the engine HOWEVER, it only has 83K miles on it. Now I havent heard it yet but I'm runnin there first thing in the am. My brother inlaw works there.
Isnt this something I could take back to DC for Possability Warranty if it's a "Engine" problem being under the 100K.
I'm going to get the VIN but I'm not to sure if I'll be able to find a dealer that could run it to confirm coverage than theres the posability it's something else but...

I'm just thinking if its sucked a valve etc, possable coverage.

I can pick this up for a song I mean were talkin CHEEP.

Not sure what I'm lookin for here but feel free to chime in.

Just for referance I have a friend that has a complete 04 engine sitting in his garage with nothing to put it in, but it would probably cost me a cool 5k I'm guessing.

Depending when it was purchased, you might be out of warranty , it was 5 years or 100K was it not?

 

See I dont remember.
I had mine in a few months ago (it's a 01 also) when it was at 97K and they took care of it.
I dont think there was a 5yr on the engine..
Wonder how I could find out. Think that info would be in my Owners manual?
Also do they go by the current year or what year has been released?
It's an 01 and it's still 05 for another week. Thats a 4 almost 5 year old truck.

Ok I grabed my owners manual and it states 5 yr 100K

So the pending question would be is a 01 covered till 06 so this truck still has a week?

Need some Dodge techs to chime in here

They go by inservice date, the date it was sold to the original owner.

Only way to find this out for sure, is run a VIN check at the dealership.
