Floor pan thickness & misc electrical questions

I decided to roll all into one here to save some board clutter

How thick is the floor pan in the back under the seat, I want to drill through it to run some wires for my KC lights but im not sure if I will be able to get all the way through

if it has several layers to it like I think it might, would it be best to just run the wires up through the firewall where I have the rest of my wires run?

My outside temp sensor on the OH display reads like 20 degrees too hot, or sometimes it just says "SC" Im thinkin "broken"

honestly i couldnt tell u the exact thickness of it but it aint alot. i had to drill through mine to mount my subwoofer boxes.

one VERY important thing to remember, your fuel tank is right below it.

just wonderin though, y go through the floorboard to run the wires?

Re:Floor pan thickness & misc electrical questions

cause if I go through the floor... well its like 30 feet less wire I have to run cause I dont have to run it clear to a hole in the drivers side firewall all the way back to the passenger side back seat... not to mention I have 4 seperate wires to run...

There should be a grommet on the back of the cab, down towards the corners, one on each side I think.
It comes in under the rear seat.

Just make sure to RTV or silicone it to seal it after running the wires.

I second the RTV. Drilled a nice 3/4 inch hole in mine to run a bunch of stuff. I would say it is under a 1/8 inch thick. Just make sure you double check what is below before drilling!

I drilled a hole in mine underneath the center console for a cb antenna wire. At least at that point it wasn't very thick. I just jambed a gromment in there ran my wire then put some rtv in as well.
