First New for Me Diesel
Hello all,
After about a year of visiting this site, I finally found a truck I liked and bought it.
Just took home (less then 24 hours ago) a:
2002 Dodge 2500 Quad Cab, SLT Plus package
4x4
Short Bed
All Options
Automatic
3.55 gears
Tu-tone Gray/Silver.
Gray leather int.
Mileage is 32,500...still new!
Will post pics when I get some.
Plans are to pull a 28 foot Sunline TT that has a GVWR of 8800lbs. I will be pulling in the N.East area maybe a dozen times a year or so. What is your recommendation on upkeep of the auto tranny? Fluids changed and flushed yearly? Hopefully it last awhile.

About the tranny, either call dtt or get a shift improver kit and ditto what those guys said about deeper pan and temp guages and clean/fresh oil. Also lock out OD when towing and when accelerating or when around town, OD is for only when you have reached cruising speed and are not acceleration above 55 mph, good luck with thr 47re. Also I wouldnt mod you engine much or put bigger tires on unless you talk to dtt or equivelant and regear( for tires).

Congradulations on the new to you truck, you will be happy with the pulling of your trailer, Just change the fluid and filter, as flushing is not recommended it pushes the trash if any into the valve body, Goodluck,,,,Rick

Congrads on the new truck. As far as the goes I would change fluids and filter. It would be a good idea to get a valve body also. I agree with what was said above about the OD. good luck and have fun\

Nice truck.
I'd definitely recommend some tranny upgrades.
Especially towing that much and even more so if you plan to add a fueling box or injectors.
Good luck.
