Finally going to fix my steering, questions
Tax return time, I want to fix the play/slop in the steering of my 99. Mine is not too bad, compared to other 2nd gens. I just want the play to be gone so I will drive like a 3rd gen (hopefully) I have drove, everything in my front end is tight, I plan on ordering a DSS steering stabilizer for sure, I am thinking about also getting the Rock Solid bushing. Anything else out there I shoud also get? I done really want to shell out $400+ for the trackbar conversion.
Also, my truck is an auto, I have heard horror stories about the rock solid bushing installation on the autos, any insight? Also, is there any way to replace the bushing in the gearbox that goes bad?

I just installed the Rock solid bushing last night....it really makes the steering feel alot better. I would compare it to the feeling of a Chrysler Sebring. You really feel like you are in control of the truck instead of a sloppy, loose steering wheel throwing you all over the road. The DSS is by far the best steering mod you can get for your rig....I love mine!
I have a manual trans. The instructions are in detail with pics....it was a bummer to seat all the way in, but worth my time after it was done. I installed it with the column in place & was only in the garage 1 hour.
