Factory Pinstripes?

Bought a used red 2001.5 3/4 ton today. It has two black pinstripes along the side up high and I'm wondering if it came from the factory this way. I don't think my brown truck had any stripes. Anybody know? They're kind of cracked in a few places and I'm thinking of removing them, but thought I'd see what y'all think first.

My 99 had the same stripes when I bought it, not sure if they were factory or not, but I pulled them off.

I'm sure they are a dealer add on.

I'm sure they are factory. When you guys are too cheap to order two tone paint they feel sorry for you and give you pin stripes.

My 96 came with the stripes from the factory, they were on it when it came off the truck before the dealer had a chance to touch it

Those stripes were stock from plant in '95. They didn't stop the paint from peeling off though!!

Acording to the parts catalog they are not factory. They were probably added when the truck was on the lot. Some of the older models came from the factory with stripes as mentioned above but not in 2001.

Do y'all think I'd run into any problems removing them from my truck?

I peeled mine off, came off in tiny pieces mostly, but a little buffing and you can't tell they were on there.

Your paint may have faded, see if you can tell looking in the door jamb, somewhere it has been protected from the sun.

Not that I know of. Maybe a body shop or a decal/tint shop could do it. Maybe enven color match too.

BTW mine did come with them too. I had the truck for about 3-4 months before I even noticed them.

Yeah, I know. I realized it about 5 miles after that picture. I had just bought the truck a few days prior to that picture. And then when I was driving it I saw the hood and thought, "these Dodges sure sure have bouncy hoods", then I relized I never shut it all the way.

Even with the little bitty pieces it took less than two beers...
