Engine Build date vs truck build date

I noticed that my engine build date was 11-24-97. The truck build date is 11-27-97 now that is close. are the two build plants right next door.
I also thought Cummins stopped making the 12v way before that.
I just thought that was some interesting info to share.

The Cummins Midrange Engine Plant is in Columbus Indiana. the Trucks used to be built in Saltillo Mexico or St Luis Mo.
Is your truck a '97 or '98, I am guessing you have a '98. they did offer the 12v in the '98 as the standard engine and the 24v was optional.

Cummins still made 12V engines for agri and industrial use. The newer one have a 24V head but still retains the P7100 injection pump.

In 98' the 12V was in the trucks, and was also the year dodge introduced the Quad cab. Mid 98 Dodge switched over to the 24V engine. The 24V was never an option.

You are right, all I could remember was '98 had both engines available.
