Electrical Nightmare
I have a 99 2500 24valve, with 417xxx kms on the clock. I bought the truck with almost every accessory stolen from the vehicle (lights, pillar gauges, stereo, speakers, trailer brake, etc). I've been working on replacing/repairing everything that was stolen and damaged in the process, but I've run into a few issues that I'm hoping someone can shed some light on:
1. OBD port has no power (Replaced #15 fuse, all other fuses fine)
2. High Beam Indicator stays on with low beams, turns off with high beams (reversed), and stays on when truck is off
3. Left low beam doesn't work, checked bulb and fuses but still not luck
Has anyone had any similar issues, or knows whats going on?

2.)Take a look at the DTRL module on the driver side fender, below the brake master cylinder. (This module gives you daytime running lights, and controls the high beam indicator on Canadia spec trucks)
3.) Take a look at the ground splice that sits rather close to the driver side headlight, a little below the light on the fender. There are a lot of cables going there and they get ground through the fender sheetmetal, but the post rusts out frequently.
1.) No power or no ground on the connector? How about the data connections? Many scanners offer the option to power them through the cig lighter or sport a battery. It would be interesting to know if it's just the 12V+, ground or everything missing.
And- get a factory service manual! The best return on investment you can imagine!
(Well, I tried to leverage this by buying thousands of them for my truck... but only the first one saved me thousands of $$$, the other ones seem to be defective... I would have wanted to retire on them )

Check that the proper headlight bulbs are installed. Should be 9004, NOT 9007 (unless it has Sport quad headlamps, in which case it should be 9007 on the outers and 9004 on the inners.)

Good to know on those sport headlight bulbs, my son recently acquired his Grandpa's 2001 3500 sport truck and while I did own a 2001 2500 it was a regular truck not the sport version.

Yeah it's a bit confusing, especially since the two bulbs use an identical connector, but are wired differently; so if you plug the incorrect one in it can have a strange effect on the circuit.
