ecm problems? Gauges don't work,NO BUS?
does anybody know a computer savy tech guy I can call or pay to fix my truck? Had an overheat code and a 1693 code, then stopped transmitting codes and now only the tach works and it only goes in 3rd gear, trans guy says ecm is bad? I think the new trans sent a code from the trans ecm to the main ecm and defaulted to a safe mode or something? Im in so.cal and was wondering if there's a tech line i can call? any help would be appreciated..whats a NO BUS code on the odometer? everything was working computer wise when I took it into the trans shop.

My truck did the same thing when my tranny went bad. The 1693 is a capanion code. The "no bus" will show up on your odometer, there isn't a code. The only code I got was the TCM to PCM fail, can't remember the number. I said that to say this.... My tranny problem was a wire had a small split on one of the solinoids, so maybe the trans guy pinched one of those wires. Hope this helps.

NO BUS indicates that the instrument panel doesn't have a connection to the rest of the computers. There is a plug under the dash, just left of where the clutch would be for the instrument panel. You can check to make sure you have a good connection there.
