DRL and parking brake ????

Just recently my Daytime Running Lights have stopped working and I think it has something to do with my Parking brakes, I used them frequently and noticed before that when you apply the brake when truck is running the lights shut off. Just yesterday I was trying to troubleshoot the problem and I was pushing on the pedal and releasing it a few times and the lights came on for a split second and shut off, and couldn't make them go on after that. I looked at the single wire at the pedal but couldn't see anything wrong with it, could use some feedback if anyone has encountered the same problem and rectified it.........thanks

Is the brake pulling all the way off? Like once you release the emergency brake can you pull the pedal any further up towrds you? It only takes 1 click of the brake to shut the lights down. All that switch does is provide a ground, that will turn the Brake light on the dash and also turn of the Daytime running lights.

Pull the brake release and hold it while lifting the park brake pedal with your foot. If they come on, you need to just adjust the switch.

It happens quite often on trucks that have thier park brakes out of adjustment, mainly when you release the brake, the pedal doesn't come up enought to trip the switch.

Ya I tried that, the pedal is all the way up.....the only thing I should piont out is unlike other vehicles I've had, this one when you apply the parking brake the pedal comes back up and brakes remain applied, is that normal ?

Sounds to me like its a bad switch being the park light does not turn off,,,, it may be dirty or even rusty as to why it may not be shutting it off and keeping your DRL s off to. There might be an adjustment on the switch,, not sure cant remember last time i was under there looking at it
