drag link question
drag link question
Upon doing a suspension/steering inspection I found that my drag link may be loose. I cant move it from side to side but I can wiggle it back and forth (front of truck to back and vice-versa). And of course the O.E. fittings don't have grease certs. Is this normal? I've been noticing something funny in the front end after installing coil spacers. But I haven't replaced the track bar either yet, but it's next. The funny feeling is a thump or pop that I can feel in the steering wheel. Any insight to this guys? Thanks
My track bar went out. You could look under the truck and have someone wiggle the stearing wheel back and forth and watch it move up and down. I didnt replace the whole bar i used a LUKE'S Link and it worked pretty good. If you dont have alot of money that is a good way to go. If you do have the money there are places that offer aftermarket track bars that are awesome. I hope you dont ever have to experience the " death wobble" Oh god thats a fraky situation.
You can check all of the tie rod type ends by using a pair of water pump pliers and putting one jaw on the ball stud end and the other on the opposite side and squeeze together. Any movement means a worn joint.
