Crankcase Breather and Fuel/Water Separator
Crankcase Breather and Fuel/Water Separator
Ok, yall. Got a couple questions/concerns. A couple weeks ago when I was fueling up, I forgot to check the fuel/water separator before I started fueling up. So like a moron, I lifted the lil black hatch, and a steady stream of diesel fuel drained out. D'OH!
Then the other day, yet again I forgot to check the fuel/water separator before refueling. But this time I waited til refueling was complete, and yet again I lifted the lil black hatch and a steady stream of fuel drained out.
Did I screw something up? What did I do wrong?
My second question/concern is the crankcase breather bottle. I read in the Dodge Owner's Manual that the Crankcase Breather bottle should be drained at each oil change.
Is this necessary? Yall do it? How is it done?
Thanks!

Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I don't understand why you're dinking with the fuel/water separator so much. Other than maybe one time between filter changes, the only time open mine is when I'm changing the filter.
If the bottle gets too full or overflows, you'll end up with oil all over the fan blade, radiator and front of the engine.
