cooper discoverer STT

Anyone have any experience with these STT Cooper tires, they look pretty aggressive, how do they ride on the road? seeing that for a 16" rim i can either get them in 265 or a 305, i think i might go with 305, but i ideally want a 285

My buddy had an 06 qc swb 4x4 with them and loved them. They rode smooth and didnt howl to much and when he needed that aggressive tread came in real handy.

I have seen the STT tires on several units, all big fat heavy trucks.

Currently I run BFG 285's on the dodge, but in a month or so, at new tire time, I'll be going to the Coopers. They run more "round" and are easer to balance than the BFG mud t/a tires that I am using.

Cost wise, they are slightly more than the BFG, but if I can get the same life out of them, I'll be reasonably happy.

I've never used Cooper STT, but, I really like the Cooper Discoverer ATR light truck tires. Maybe the best tires I've used. I will be going back to those when it's time for the truck to get new shoes. The BFG A/T light truck tires that are on it now are nice in the dry, but, the worst tire I've owned for snow and rain.

Spoke to a guy the weekend who was running them. He went to them for the price, but loves them in the LA mud. I was comparing them to mt BFG AT KO's. He said he has run the BFG's also, but gets more bang for his buck with the Coopers. Style is very close to the BFG.

I think Coopers in general are a better tire for trucks.

thanks for all the input, i am mainly using them for looks of the bigger more aggressive tire since im sick of looking at small highway tires, i mainly drive on pavement, dont pull anything extremely heavy, but i do also live on a farm, where there is the occasional mud or snow etc
