converting to diesel

I just bought a 1986 Ford 350 Dualy out of an estate that is a really nice truck. except that it has a 456 cu in ford gas guzzler..

a friend of mine has one converted to use a dodge Ram Cummins engine, and he said it was an easy swap.

Does anyone know anything about doing a coversion like this..

Thanks

Howard

Check here:

Whether or not it makes $ense for your needs is another question. Around here, diesel is priced about $.50 more than reg gas. If the old Ford 460 is in good shape it will pull pretty good and you can buy a lot of gas for the $5K to $10K you will prolly spend converting to a Cummins. Might make more sense to sell the Ford and buy a diesel one ton....???
