Cleaning HVAC Ducts

I have looked around and could not find anything so if this is a repeat, my bad.

I have a lot of dust in the ducting in my hvac and was wondering if any of you have figured out a more ingenious way of getting the ducting clean. Other than just blowing the crap out of it with the air compressor. I did find the thread about cutting a hole in the air box to clean it out, but I wanted to clean out the rest of the system as well. Kinda tired of the dust plume when I kick on the air or heat.

Thanks in advance

Look at the dollar stores for a set of the long handled, bendable dryer vent cleaner brushes. pop the dash bezel off and it will remove the diffusers with it, leaving the vent tubes open.

Then look for the source of the debris getting in there. Usually from a pile of leaves up next to the windshield.

Great Idea 1-2-3, I knew you guys would come through for me. Aint no trees out here though, just sage brush and rocks. The dirt out here is like talcum powder and will drive you crazy. You get a thin film inside 5 min after a two hour detail. makes for very high whiskey bills!!! I think a couple of scrubs with the vent brushes dry then wet will work great. Maybe a bit of bleach to make sure there are no critters in the muck.

I had a GMC come in whose ducting was all plugged up with leafs.
Air compressor wasn't enough but a 200 mpg gas powered leaf blower sure was.
Problem solved.
