Fuel plates are simply a power kit. Since there are no electronics on the 12 valve, the power kits are mechanical in nature. <br>Just about every vendor carries fuel plates for the 12 valve motors and can recommend which one would suit your needs.<br><br>The numbers just represent the different HP/TQ levels they should give.<br><br>http://www.tstproducts.com/power_kits_trial.htm

Did the quick studies decided that since they went down 3 grand on the 12v i was gonna take that. ANd did the studies on here to get some idea on how to bomb it. So went to pick it up. THey sold the 24 earlier today to a walk in cash deal ( meth) Of course thats a speculation haha. But I told them i wanted tot ake it for one more drive to make sure. there like no problem. Jumped in took off and Took it for about a 30 min drive. There like drive it like your going to when you drive. so we went off decided to give it a quick 1/4 run cause it has a banks powerpack on it. all the sudden heard this clunk clunk and boom. Wouldnt start or nuttin. So they towed it off and im like no thanks. So im still truckless

I own a 95 12Valve and to answer your question on fuel mileage I get 17 to 18 around town and 20 to 21 on the highway. I even got 25 mpg traveling to the north rim of the Grand Canyon. The altitude there was around 8500 to 9200 ft above sea level (thin air) which should have made it worse but it was probably because I was only driving 50 to 55 mph. I tow an approximate 10,000 lbs. 5th wheel and average 9 to 11 mpg depending on how fast I drive. This is with the mods listed in my profile.

Mileage? Heck, I'd be happy with 20 highway. My '97 12 valve gets 18 city and 19 hwy. I don't have a lead foot, and I'm trying to find a way to get 20-22. I have a Powerjoke Excursion that I just tuned with a Superchips tuner and it went from 15 to 19 city! I can't have a Ferd beating my CTD!<br>As far as the 12 vs. 24 argument, I knew nothing going into buying my truck except that a Cummins was the way to go. Now that I've begun BOMBing, I KNOW the 12V is a better engine, maintenance-wise. Sure, I can't program my engine, but I have no pump problems, and everything I do to my truck is mechanical, so I know exactly what I'm doing to it! <br>Don't take any offense, you overvalved drivers, it's just my humble opinion, and I can't make any money off of it!!!!!! ;D

If I hade a 12v I probably would say get a 24v, but I have a 24v so I going yo quote KatDiesel “Get the 12v. End of story”<br><br>Kind of like the auto vs manual thing.<br>

I get 20 mpg with my truck with all of the mods on it. As far as getting a 24v or 12v I love my 12v and the reliability of it. They are not slow by any means. The ability to select how much power you want would be nice but I have no problem having all the power all the time. No time wasted with buttons to push.
