Center Console Confusion

Just need a bit of help here answering a silly question.
I don't know if this holds true for every single 2nd gen truck, but, I thought I had this narrowed down to:

98-01 have a 19" long console lid.

94-97 is longer...21"ish?

Is this correct?

since you asked i went out and measured the lids of the consoles of my trucks. i dont know if they changed for the end of the run (2000+) but i doubt it.

97 = 19x14.5
99 = 19x15

See, that 19" front to back should be 98 and newer.
BUT, I see Red Angus has a 97 that's only 19" long also.

I sure thought the 94-97 lids were at least 2" longer.

(RedAngus, is your 97 an extend or a std cab?)
Just trying to learn something new.
