And that's why we hear about so many million mile Fords and GMs? I challenge you to find just one D-Max with over 650k. Original injector pump and turbo, one set of injectors at 570k, no holes in the seats or carpet and worked pretty hard. If you find it, I gar-un-tee it doesn't look as good, inside or out, as mine does.

have the same prob with my truck. I do what someone else said....set the trip computer. At midway through 1/4 and 1/2 full I'm pumpin' in close to 30. Anybody know of a write up or anything on replacing the sending unit?

This isn't true, sender is about $50 or you can buy an entire remanufactured module for $125.
I find it much easier to tilt the bed up rather than dropping the tank.
You were absolutely right Sir, I have the older canister (yellow) and he said that his manual was taking him back to having to replace the whole canister. So I went to the service department and checked the ohms of my sender vs. a new one and they matched perfectly. IIRC .02 on the low end and .23 on the high end. Figured that maybe the sender was hanging up on the draw straw from my new FASS pump. I guess only time will tell. While I had the tank off I went ahead and did the vent mod to get a bit extra fuel in the tank.

I do have one more question though, there is a grey thingy on top of the canister that looks like a vent. see pic. Is it okay to put a fuel line with a filter on this to keep the crap out like 3rd geners are doing??

Thanks again for all your help guys!!!!

One outlet on the module is a vent, leave it alone.
The capped barb is a fuel supply for an auxiliary engine, etc.
Picture may help.

So should I cap it, or just leave it be?
