Can you adjust the temp of an RV water heater?
Hey there, one last question guys and gals. Can you adjust the Temp of the water on an Atwood water heater? I used to have a suburban in my last trailer and that thing was HOTTTTTTTT.My Atwood gets hot, but I think It needs to be a little hotter. Is there an adjustment you cando?? Thanks!
I saw a couple of articles that make me believe that the gas thermostat isn't adjustable but different thermostats are available (120*, 140* about $20?) as replacements.. The electric thermostat is adjustable and typically is delivered turned down to protect against scalding. On mine, the adjustment is on the inside end of the heater. I cranked it up a bit when I first bought it.

On any of the electronic heaters that I have seen the temp is controlled by two small thermal "buttons" mounted on the surface of the tank just above the gas regulator. Right side is water temp and the left one is fail safe, ie high temp. The buttons are available at dealers and maybe Camping World. Not hard to replace, just push in and give a 1/4 turn to the left. Be careful of the wiring and the little plastic tabs that hold them in.
