Cab Lights???

Does anyone know if a kit is made to add lights to the top of the cab. I am leary of cutting holes in my cab, but love the look that they provide.

Also, does anyone know where I could get good towing mirrors. i noticed a Ram down here, that looked like the mirrors came off of an ExhaustStroke.

Help me out !!!

As far as the clearance lights, I believe the holes are marked under the headliner. I am pretty sure there was a thread here recently that dealt with the issure. Try a search. I think Dodge offers a kit, but I may be mistaken.

I think the towing mirrors you are referring to are like the ones I have. They are made by ****. There is a photo in my gallery of my truck with them. You can search the net for vendors, or you might have an accessory shop nearby that has them, so you won't have to pay shipping charges.

My clearance lights were ordered when I ordered my truck, but I would assume you could get a set off a junk yard truck that just had the wheels run off of it... and they ought to go on just fine...I agree the truck looks nicer with them on there..

You can't have clearance lights without drilling holes. The key is to get good quality lights with gaskets. The rest is careful measuring with a grease pencil for marking. Use a string and masking tape to hold a good line for your lights and then measure it out like you want. Then remove the headliner and drill.

There is a kit available from the dealer. Can't remember off the top of my head what the part number is though.

I purched a set of 5, from the local parts store for $25. After removing the headliner, I saw where "the roof is marked". There are 5 holes, each 1" in diameter, where the wires for the lights come thru the sub roof, this is the only markings. What I did was drilled a single hole in the center of each of the 1" sub-roof holes. I then went up top, dropped the wires for the lights thru each hole. I measured the distance between the outside lights and the roof edge, keeping them the same, and drilled the 2 mounting holes. I found center between the 2 lights I mounted, and mounted the center light. measured from the center light to the 2 remaining lights to get them even. In each case, the light is (if memory serves correctly) 4" from the front edge of the roof. The lights are monted with black permatex on the gasket, and using #10 machine screws with nylock nuts.

Bituthane is a much better sealant than Silly-cone and permatex....
