a/c help

For awhile now i have had a small slow leak, well now my compressor is starting to lock up so i havnt used my a/c since april. I am going to replace the compressor and all the small o rings and the actuator canister. What else should i replace while i have the mess made? I have seen many people talk about the evap core going bad....? I want it to be like alaska in the cab again not a sauna!

I would remove compressor, dryer, and orifice tube. Flush system with AC flush. The reassemble all pieces with new AC o rings. Then if u have access to a tank of nitrogen and regulator. Pressurize the system thru the hi side to about 150psi. Then shut off tank. Pressure should stay. If it drops, u still have a leak. Spray junctions and rubber portions of hoses with soapy water. Look die bubbles. Hope that helps

With a 2001 your evap core may go any day so it is up to you whether you want to replace. Not difficult but time consuming - read the FSM and posts on this site for guidance - just undoing a lot of screws.

2 years ago I did everything except condensor and compressor - this year I have a slow leak so once it gets larger the condensor and compressor are next.
