I basically have a brand new system, everything except the evaporator core.

A/C blows 42 degrees out of the vents but when I rev the engine (1500+ rpm) the compressor will turn off and turn back on.
I have added 2 cans of 12oz refrigerant. System calls for 30 oz. Before I add the other 1/2 can I was curious why my high side is around 250 (at the highest) and my low side is around 30. Temperature outside was about 72 degrees
Should I keep adding even though the high side reads 250?

Your high side will read high like that until the fan engages. No biggie. Try putting a box fan in front of the radiator if you want to see it lower. That will simulate driving down the road. Some low pressure switches are adjustable. Look inbetween the two prongs for a small set screw. I can't remember for sure on a 01.5, though. I'm thinking it was more on the old ones. Go ahead and put the other 1/2 can in. It'll be fine.

 

Oh....and the pressures will read a little goofy until all the oil gets to where it is going. It has to go thru the orifice tube and that will make it look a little high too.
