i have a question for yall. when i start my truck in the mornings, after its been plugged in, there is a buzzing sound coming from under the hood. i dont know if its from the rad. or some where else but it goes on for about 30 sec then quits. its nothing im to worried about im just wondering bout it.

 

Sounds to me like it is the power steering pump. You should hear my '03 Caravan. It sounds a lot worse than my '96 Ram.........

Lube-Guard PS treatment will fix it right up.
$5 at most any auto parts.

 

Only buzzing I've heard is the lift pump running.

My power steering emits more of a moan or groan than a buzz.

Try just bumping the starter and see if you hear the same buzzing.
Normal if that's what it is.

The only thing i can figure is the oil bypass valve since that is where its coming from, right side of the engine.

Only when its pretty cold out does it do it and the oil isnt really heated up by the block heater.

Dont worry about, both my cummins did it, its really bad with 15/40 whens its minus 30 out!! hehe
