Brake Light stay on

Brake Light stay on

Went out this am to my truck was -28'c and my brake lights were on long enough to dran the batteries this has happened last winter only when really cold...tonite I pulled the fuse so this does not leave me stranded again! anyone had this problem?

I would think it's your brake light switch under the pedal sticking on. You could try shimming it up a bit or get a new one.

Not sure on an '02 but the brake light switch for a 12 valve only costs $10 at Napa.
Replace it.

The older 12 valve brake light switches can be adjusted as well, don't know about the 02. Reach under the dash along the brake pedal and feel for a plunger back towards the dash. Depress brake pedal with your forearm and pull the plunger out a few clicks. I've had to adjust mine twice in three years, once for brake lights and once to get the cruise control to work

ok found the problem

it's the switch I will replace it this weekend for now I just take to fuse out at night

Make sure you don't pull the tab out before installing. Read the instruction sheet in the bag before you decide to say "hmmm, I wonder what this little thingy is for", don't ask how I know this . . .
