Brake light and speedo problem

I recently replaced my batteries because they weren't able to hold much of a charge anymore. Just before that the parking brake dash light and the ABS light came on and haven't been off since. A week or so after that my speedo doesn't begin to read anything until I reach about 25 mph. The batteries were replaced a couple of weeks ago with no change to these problems. I'm assuming that these problems are only a coincidence relative to the bad/new batteries but didn't know if they might be related.

P.S. Truck doesn't have an ABS

I am assuming this is an automatic truck?

If so, I'm thinking the speed sensor in the trans needs to be replaced.

That's my guess too. Also closely inspect the wiring leading to that sensor. Gravel can be hard on it.
