Brake Issues

I got another one... 2000 3500. I have a ABS and Brake light that stays on. When I first drive the truck the brakes are really touchy and if I hit them quick it will lock up the rear. Is this a valve issue or maybe a master cylinder?

Try manually adjusting your rear brakes. Stopped all that lockup business with mine. I don't know if it will help with the ABS or not.

I would pull the drums and inspect the brakes first. Oil seal could be leaking, excessive brake dust, wheel cylinders leaking, both adjusters turns ok and are not seized. Shoes are not loose and no heat cracks in shoes or drums. Drums are not out of round. check wheel bearing play also. You can find out exactly what is going on with your rear brakes just by pulling the drums. Check the fuses for ABS if antilock light is on you DONOT have anti lock brakes no longer. You have conventional brakes until failure is corrected and code is cleared.

Year 2000 2500 rwd with hydraboost. The problem i have is that after start brake pedal feels hard and it seems that only front brakes are working. After driving about 10 miler the ABS and brake warning lights comes on. when warning lights goes on the brakepedal starts to feel normal and the rear brakes seems to work. My truck has ABS only in rear and i have replaced the sensor on the rear axle.

Is the power steering res. Full?
I have had some funky pedal feel and pulsing action before with hydro boost systems with low fluid.

Oh yes it is. I think that my problem is not related to the hydro boost system at all. There might be something fishy in the ABS module, i think.
Thanks for the reply.
