body panels

My passenger's door is rusting badly along the bottom seam, I had POR15ed it inside and out but that did nothing to slow it down so I need either an entire door skin or a patch panel I can weld in. I see that LMC has patch panels, is the quality there? Anyone use them?

why are all my vehicles rusting out where we have single digit humidity and havent seen any moisture since April? Half the state is on fire and yet the rust continues...

Thanks

The LMC Panels are of good quality, in fact I found the gage of metal to be a bit thicker than the stock panels.

Check out my thread here about post 18 on my panel repair.

Talked to a few body men and all said the full door skin was the best all round fix. Patch panels take more time and it another place to start rusting again. So that is my plan, full door skins.

Thanks for the input, great write up Tom! thanks. I've done some patchpanel work before on a 59 MGA I'm doing and a 70 Scout I did for my daughter but sometimes the panel isnt all it could be

Hot Rod, I got the same response at one body shop I talked to when I first noticed the rust, they wouldnt touch it as far as a repair, but they would replace and paint the door. They do excellent work but way out of my price range when it comes out of pocket

I got a quote from someplace online for an aftermarket std cab shell brand new, painted in two tone urethane + clear for 695$.
Now, getting it shipped with no damage, that will be a challenge.
My drivers side door is rotted out and I was originally thinking of doing a lower skin. Now I think I might just cut and patch again.

Aftermarket Cab?

Who is quoting you an aftermaret cab shell? I've never heard of such a thing!

I'd be interested if these are available!
