Blinking ABS light

I put a new engine in my 95 ram diesel. Since then the ABS light blinks constantly. Couple mechanics can't figure it out and searched internet for info and found nothing. Anyone seen this before?

Thanks

Did you do the work yourself, or take it to a shop? If a shop did it, take it back and require them to fix it on their time/dime - they screwed it up, they fix it.

Swapping engines would involve some work near the master cylinder, combination valve/distribution block, hydraulic control unit, etc. Have you looked for any broken or pulled out wires? Have you checked the ABS-related wiring in that area or under the truck for other signs of rubbing against edges and shorting?

I have the factory service manual (FSM) for my '96. The FSM is a great repair tool. I suggest you get one for your '95 - Geno's garage has paper copies for sale. Check your PMs. The FSM for '96 details how to ground the diagnostic connector to have the ABS and brake trouble lights flash the ABS diagnostic code. That procedure and the codes may be different for a '95, so you should acquire the FSM for '95, or get a scan tool that will read ABS codes. The FSM will also have wiring diagrams.

Thanks!!

Thanks so much for response. I had it done at a shop. I thought it might be blinking a code and tried resetting PCM and didn't help. Will look for wires and definitely order the book!

Check your private messages, if you haven't already.

When you say it's blinking - I assume that's under operating conditions? Not trying to jumper the diagnostic/data connector?
